Today, Sunday, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of the Public Business Sector, conducted an inspection tour of the factories of the Kahira Pharmaceutical Company, affiliated with the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf El-Kholy, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company, Rasha Omar, Assistant Minister for Project Development, Dr. Amani Haroun, Supervisor of the Companies Development Project, and Dr. Yasser Fawzy, Executive Managing Director of Kahira Pharmaceutical Company. This is to follow up on the development, modernization and efficiency work that has been implemented for the production lines, service areas and infrastructure within the framework of the project to comply with the requirements of good manufacturing (GMP) and the requirements of the Egyptian Medicines Authority in order to ensure increased production and the sustainability of the work of the companies’ factories to meet the needs of the local market and expand into foreign markets in accordance with the controls of international organizations. working in this field. This comes within the framework of the general strategy to increase exports, reduce imports, and provide the necessary production requirements for the industry, especially the pharmaceutical industries, and as a continuation of the ongoing field tours to find out the latest developments in the implementation of development and modernization projects and increase production that are being implemented in all affiliated sectors, including cooperation and partnership projects with the private sector, whether local or foreign. To support local industry and localize modern technology. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the required requirements and controls regulated by the Medicines Authority and the implementation procedures taken by the Kahira Company in light of the development plan. He directed the rapid completion of the required work within the affiliated pharmaceutical manufacturing companies according to the specified timetables, taking into account the continuity of production, and to ensure the readiness of the companies and their readiness for international inspection and accreditation committees within the framework of the state’s policy of providing medicines and making them available to citizens by supporting, developing and modernizing the national industry and continuing the production of vital preparations required locally. At reasonable prices, including Prizolene, Triactin, Proximol, and other preparations that are distinguished by the company, which it exports to 10 Arab and African countries. Pointing out the importance of developing data units in accordance with the required requirements, and training workers on analysis, monitoring and blogging processes, how to deal with data, raising performance rates, paying attention to maintenance and quality departments, management and monitoring methods, business follow-up, daily work management, and other work necessary to improve the work system within companies. Dr. Esmat inspected the company's factories and production lines, which include 12 production areas, including the areas for producing tablets, syrups, drops, capsules, suppositories, creams, ointments, ampoules, powders, effervescent sachets, mouthwash, antiseptics, powder suspensions, the plant extracts production line, and the inhalation anesthetic area. As well as production areas for manufacturing for international companies, the tour included service and infrastructure areas, a water purification plant, a microbiology laboratory, a pharmaceutical raw materials warehouse, and the development of a firefighting and automatic alarm system, security systems, and cameras. During the tour, Dr. Esmat directed production officials and factory managers to the necessity of benefiting from the development project in increasing production, improving product quality, expanding into new products, and improving performance rates. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat confirmed that developing work systems and applying international standards in the pharmaceutical industry are among the goals of the comprehensive development plan that is being implemented in all companies. Pointing out the great importance of the pharmaceutical sector within the framework of the general strategy to support the industry, localize technology, increase exports and reduce imports. Stressing the keenness to complete development projects according to the specified timetables, and that some companies have begun production within the framework of the new controls and requirements of the Drug Authority and good manufacturing requirements. He added that the Kahira Pharmaceutical Company has great manufacturing capabilities, and during the past year it achieved more than one billion pounds in total sales, and that the private sector is a major partner in the plan to develop the industry and expand in value-added industries, with its technical and administrative expertise, financing capabilities, and modern technology.
